Is there any way to sit ergonomically with my knees up?

I've been experiencing neck and upper back pain for a few months now, and all signs point to my extremely non-ergonomic way of sitting as the culprit. Essentially, I sit like your average neurodivergent bisexual. [more inside]

Cozy but flexible reading nook furniture?

I have a small space I'd like to furnish as a reading nook, with two comfy curl-up chairs and possibly a small table or hard-topped ottoman for board games. The catch: 1-2 times a year, for up to a few weeks at a time, the space needs to be cleared and occupied by unrelated seasonal stuff, with very limited space to stow the regular furniture during that time. Is there furniture like a grown-up version of dorm room dish chairs, low-profile and portable but also genuinely comfortable, durable, and OK-looking? [more inside]

Am I thinking about accessibility wrong?

I got tickets for New York City's Homecoming Concert and mentioned it on Facebook. A friend commented that they would love to get tickets but wouldn't physically be able to make it through the entire concert. I suggested the ADA seating in case they didn't know that was an option. Beanbags for grown-ups?

I want a beanbag chair-type thing for flexible seating and lounging. But I want it to be the most mature, adult, elegant, sophisticated grown-up-looking beanbag possible. Not like, executive leather, but well-made from nice materials, won't look too out-of-place among expensive furniture. Does such a thing exist?

Question about Delta Basic Economy seating

I am flying Delta from Richmond, VA to Dallas, TX next month. I booked my flight at Expedia, and I was surprised to read this after I did: "Delta Basic Economy includes carry-on bag and personal item and comes with the following restrictions: No seat assignment until after check-in." I have never seen this before. What does it mean that my seat is not assigned until after check-in? Does this mean that there is a chance that, for example, the flight is overbooked and there may not be a seat for me? I'd appreciate any insight you can give. [more inside]

Help me understand this restaurant reservation policy?

Okay, yes, apparently I was raised in a barn. There's a restaurant I'd like to patronize*, but I'm stuck on their reservation policy. Specifically, their use of the term "dinner seating." Please explain to someone who frequently fails to wear a tuxedo, even well past 6:00 pm. [more inside]

Comfortable floor seating for tall adult?

My husband is 6'0 and often finds himself playing a board game/building a Lego masterpiece/watching a video on the floor with the kids. Although he is quite slim and fit, he has a history of spinal fusion and it is very uncomfortable for him to sit on the floor for long periods. We have a few seat cushions that he can use, but these don't provide enough support. Hivemind, what kind of seating should I be looking for? [more inside]

Can I get students to sit closer to the front of a large lecture hall?

Assigned seating at the World Cup

For a given game in the World Cup elimination rounds, spectators have to buy their tickets, and presumably have a seat assigned, before they know which teams will be playing. It seems like this would result in the stadium having fans of various loyalties more or less randomly scattered about. But on TV, they often show blocks of fans of one team seated together. How do they assign seats to World Cup ticketholders to ensure that fans are seated together? I have some guesses but I'd love to hear from someone who knows what method(s) FIFA actually uses.

Economy seats Virgin Atlantic 747 SFO Heathrow

I forgot to pick seats for my flight back and don't have too many options left many of which are these aisle seats. I'm short and normally wouldn't care too much but it is a 10 hour flight. Outgoing I have a window in the section with just 2 seat across but all of those are already full for my return. I've read online reviews but was wondering if anyone could describe how much space the inflight entertainment box takes up on the aisle seats? Seatguru mentions this but I haven't found anything saying about how much space you're losing and where the box is. I've looked for photos but haven't found anything except this and I can't tell if this is actually what seating is like. I'm trying to decide if it's bad enough that I should take a middle seat.

What kind of table do I want and where can I get it? Help me find a very simple maple or oak bar stool.

Where does the lady sit if the wall has a nice view?

First Class or No Class?

What happens if you sit in the first class cabin with a coach class ticket? I got on a plane a couple of days ago, near the end of the line. First class passengers had already boarded. A nervous, but respectably dressed man in front of me sat down in a spare, first class seat. I don't know if he had a first-class ticket or not - if he was lying, what risk was he running? Does anyone, for example, check first class tickets after boarding?
