Switch between accounts in the Google Calendar app

You can find and manage events from different accounts in the Calendar app.

Use your Google Account to access all features

If you use a local or a third-party account, some Calendar features may not be available. When you use your Google Account, you can:

  • Add guests to events.
  • Receive event invitations.
  • Use event and calendar colors.
  • Add attachments or video conferencing to your events.
  • Sync across devices.
  • Create tasks.

Learn about non-Google accounts

  • A local account is stored on a phone or created by another app.
    • If you enable the account, events on the calendars associated with your local account are visible.
    • When you create an event, you can select a calendar associated with the local account.
  • A third-party account is managed by another calendar app, not Google.
    • To use an enabled third-party account, you can switch to it from your profile photo.
    • When you create an event, you can select a calendar associated with the third-party account.

Before you begin

  • To switch accounts in the Calendar app, set your screen orientation to portrait mode.
  • Your current account shows up at the top in the Menu Menu. Other enabled accounts show up below your current account.
  • To show or hide all calendars for enabled accounts:
    1. On your Android phone or tablet, tap Menu Menu.
    2. Select the calendars you want to display in the grid.
