The Texas Rangers' World Series title defense was a complete disaster, but at least there was one bright spot. A year after winning the first title in franchise history, the Rangers simply didn't have the same mojo. Kirby Yates, a 37-year-old veteran who was signed as a middle reliever, became a surprise All-Star in 2024, compiling a ridiculous 1.17 ERA in 61 2/3 innings. As great as Yates' season was, he may have wasted it in his lone chance to play for the Rangers.
