Zoom Review

PROS: Anyone, regardless of device, may participate in Zoom sessions as a guest. Anyone may host a conference from any device, and then send invites to anyone they wish to attend by email if they don't use Zoom, or add a list of attendees from their contacts list. Zoom is ideal for webinars since it supports presentations of any file format. To begin a presentation right away, add the slides you've made in PowerPoint or Slide into the task area. You may establish rooms with any number of people, which is quite useful for having separate rooms for different themes of conversation. For sharing reasons, screen sharing may be done in one-on-one conversations or in conference rooms. Zoom lets users who work with several displays select between sharing a single window or a certain monitor, which shares the complete screen with all participants.

CONS: A second message box should appear informing attendees that the camera will be switched on when they arrive at the meeting, so they may prepare and modify their appearance. The only difficulty I frequently encounter is the meeting time constraint of 40 minutes. Sometimes I get a connection, such as when I require a good connection, WIFI, or when I use my phone as a modem.

PROS: It provides quality audio and picture when we set up a meeting. When there are any glitches on the same, it resolves itself easily which puts us back on track without much struggle or loss of time. When it comes to compatibility, there is a mobile application which runs both Android and iOS to give you a flexible experience. The tool is user friendly and thus you do not have to spend a lot of time learning the hurdles that come along. In that case, our teams are able to bring new hires up to speed with how the product works. It also integrates well with Slack which adds to how efficient we can utilize the functionalities of this product.

CONS: There are a few problems that this tool has in terms of functionality. To start with, the pricing plan is not that inclusive of the users. It has a free version which gives you only 40 minutes to try it out. It feels like this time is minimal and it would be better if it was extended. Also, they can opt to take away some of the features in the free version that are available in the paid version of the Zoom. When it comes to the chat feature, it is not as good as the one in Slack. We therefore opt to use Slack along with Zoom as they integrate well.

PROS: Good overall feature suite - in line with the industry standards. Good usability and user interface.

CONS: Issues with direct dial functionality - phone numbers for countries are frequently unavailable. Frequent billing mistakes. Terrible customer service.

PROS: It is an all-round tool when it comes to sharing of screen with others. For a beginner, the learning curve is barely there. You only need a URL to get started right away and start sharing screens with others. The idea of a tool takes into consideration the essence of wanting to move quickly in term of navigating how the tool works is made possible with Zoom. The set up and usability is simple as the interface is friendly. You do not need to know much about it in order to use it. I find the pricing to be affordable and reasonable to great extent as not everyone in the meeting will require subscribing to the tool.

CONS: It is not all smooth when it comes to using Zoom for your online meetings or collaboration with other people. It has some bits of things that most people find difficult to get by. It can be difficult to manage the screen in terms of the controls. When you want to see who you are sharing the screen and what is being shared, it can be a daunting task. Another thing is when you are in a meeting with many people. The tool can be difficult to manage all those people in that meeting and everything becomes unclear. When they start talking as the voice chats overlap, making it hard to pick up what they are saying. It takes time and practice to learn how the dial-in functionality works in the tool.

PROS: It has great features to work with when you want to manage a meeting. When it comes to screen sharing, you can achieve tis with ease. You will be able to share screen with multiple people at the same time and conduct your meeting in the best way possible. Apart from that, there is the sharing of duties remotely. The quality of the video and sound is impeccable which facilitates the success of your meeting. On the same case, you can record a file or a session or download a chat for the purpose of references. It only takes you a few minutes to join the meeting. The tool offers you a feature that sends a reminder on when the meeting will be for the purpose of convenience.

CONS: It works well with meetings. However, when it comes to polls and getting the results afterwards, this tool does not offer such functionality. It does not make sense to hold polls when you cannot download the results. For Zoom the attendees have to register in order to download the results of the polls. This adds to the complication as we do not desire for them to register. It would be better if the developers of Zoom would include such functionality in this tool to help capture and download the results after a poll. At the moment, I am not using this feature as it does not offer the user a chance to download the results.

PROS: It is an efficient tool whens you want to use it for your meetings or communications or collaboration purposes. It helps to make your work easier by bringing all the related parties on board regardless of where they are. You can send an invitation for someone to join a meeting and collaborate remotely with them. With the mobile application in place, you can install the app on your mobile phone and manage your meetings from there. Whether you are at home or at a coffee shop, you can use mobile broadband or Wi-Fi to connect and hold a successful meeting. It integrates with Google calendar, which adds to how reliable it can be.

CONS: The functionality that comes with tool is impressive. When you want to hold meeting, you can do so with ease regardless of how stable your internet connection is. The quality of the video and chat are great which adds to how easy is to use it. In that case, there is very little to dislike about this product. However I think that more awareness on how and when to use the dial-up and app should be created by the developers of the tool. This is because, some users end up using the dial-up when they have the app in their mobile phones. Other than that, it is a flexible that that makes multiple things possible in an easy manner.

PROS: Zoom is very good to use for recording and even meeting live with others. I did not have a problem with it when I first used it.

CONS: The customer service was terrible. I sent a email asking for help on recording my video. I looked at the articles and videos explaining how to enable recording and it was not working every time I tried it would take me to the settings. I was waiting and waiting for the email when finally it returned...TWO MONTHS LATER! Yes it took then two whole months to return my email, and when they finally did, it was a generic ‘read this article’ email. Not only did I not receive the help I needed it took them two months to even respond. I definitely would not recommend this product if this is how they treat their customers.

PROS: In terms of usability, it is easy to find your way around. It can help to save time and effort especially when you are teaching a small group of class. It helps you to share screens and switch between screens with ease as your students share items too on the other end. In one occasion, I showed a professor who is not tech savvy on how to use Zoom in addressing her students. She was able to pick up fast as it is simple. She was able to share a video with her students who in return would share what they had with her. For my case, I was able to collaborate and reach out to my students without much hustle. Apart from that, it is compatible with Google Calendar where you can schedule and link meetings with ease.

CONS: From the time I started using this tool for my remote meetings, it has been exceptional. There are no major bugs that I came across and thus I like it as a whole. However, I have a problem with how much time you are given to use this tool for free. Once you go over the 40-munite mark, you have to subscribe to the product. This means that in order to use the free version, you have to keep your meetings as short as possible or simply subscribe to the paid version. All in all, it is worth the money if you hold everyday longer meetings on Zoom.

PROS: I teach courses online and the best way to be successful at this is to find a tool that is in line with your objectives. Since I deal with small groups of students in my practice, it is good to make sure that they get to discuss the subject within themselves. Zoom has allowed me to achieve this without much hustle. Students can learn from each other as I impact knowledge through online teaching. Zoom is the only tool that does that in the market when you compare it with other similar tools. It is easy to set up the tool and meetings based on the number of students you want in a group. This makes your work easier thanks to Zoom.

CONS: It is all good once you get the hang of Zoom. Your meetings will no longer be the same as it offers a friendly user experience. Students are able to share and discuss a topic you have taught them, which facilitates quality learning. Since it is online based, you do not have to bring students in the same room in order to learn. However, the invitation reminder is not that attractive. I did not like how the invitations appeared to the user or students. It would be nice if they offered a ring feature option where a ring appears on the screen once you are invited to join the meeting. This would look more professional than what is there at the moment.

PROS: The quality of the product and customer support could not be any better. The pricing, including the FREEmium model is superb! There's no legitimate comparison for doing video webinars with up to 100 participants [who can jump into the conversation, unless muted by the moderator] WHILE also simultaneously conducting livestream video for the masses [who can submit emoticons and type in their comments] via Facebook Live or YouTube.

CONS: ZOOM could maybe be promoted more so that more people adopted it faster. It would be great if there was not still a lingering need to convince people to adopt ZOOM now ... or to eliminate any doubt that ZOOM will completely own this space. The quicker that the world standardizes on Zoom the better.

PROS: It has become the focal point of my work. With this tool, I am able to do things that I thought would not be possible in such an easy way. I have to hold marketing webinars online and also consultations with clients on different marketing projects. With such a workload, you will need a tool that takes care of business regardless of where everyone is. Zoom has made that possible with its flexible features built-in to work as promised. I can hold meetings remotely with team members in a collaborative manner. We are able to share ideas, contribute to projects and find a way forward with ease all thanks to Zoom.

CONS: Ideal with clients from all walks of life. Whenever I want to hold a meeting using this tool, it can be difficult to take them through on how to go about. The tool can have quite a learning curve for those users who are not tech savvy. As such holding meetings with clients can be a tough nut to crack. It would be better if the developers of the tool had a page which shows a stepwise guideline son how to join a meeting when invited by another user. This would help make it easy for people to navigate the features associated with this tool. In some cases, I cannot hold meetings on Zoom and I am forced to call that client over the phone instead.

PROS: It has made things easy on my part. The tool is user friendly which means that you do not have to take too long to know how to navigate the features. It is simple and offers a reliable platform on which you can join meetings and collaborate with your team easily. The mobile application of the Zoom is what makes things look simple. I do not have to be constrained to my desktop in order to use this product. I can join in meetings while on the move which has made my work easy. It allows me to be flexible when holding conference meetings s I can use my phone to do that.

CONS: It is hard to find something negative about this product. It has become a prominent part of my meetings as I do not have to worry where I am or where other members are. I can execute a conference call right from my phone thanks to the mobile app Zoom has. I travel a lot and thus get the best out of this app as I can install it on my phone. Zoom can therefore play a huge role in terms of collaboration and communication with your team while you are on the move. If you frequently travel, this tool brings out the best in you as you do not get to miss a thing.

PROS: It has become a tool that makes meetings easy to manage and hold. It does not matter where everyone is located as it is able to connect with everyone who is not in the room. You can even schedule a meeting using a link and send reminders to everyone who is supposed to be in that meeting. The interface is simple and friendly which makes the tool easy to use. You can address a group of people who are remotely located and explain a particular concept in detail. On top of that, you can record the entire meeting for reference at a later date or when you want to share it with someone or a group of people in a meeting.

CONS: Despite Zoom being a great tool when it comes to collaborating with your team, it lacks some few basic things that could be relevant. For example, you do not have control of how other users can manipulate the file you have shared on the screen. This means that they can draw on it or alter it the way they want. There should be a way to restrict on any changes by other users once you share the file on the screen. This would help keep the file original at all times. On top of that, you cannot control the camera or microphone n the other end of other users. Zoom does not offer a way for users to have a screen name which can be a drawback.
