His school chum Jack Nevin arrives and is amused at the Pettibones' affectionate farewell. Mrs. Pettibone hears her husband telling his friend that he doubts whether or not his wife is a trifler an affectionate and persuading his friend to flirt with his wife and report to him. Mrs. Pettibone astounds Jack by being very flirty. When Bob gets home he catches the pair in what he considers a more-than-friendly conversation. He is so enraged that he throws a bisque figure on the floor; the noise startles the couple, then Mrs. Pettibone calmly picks up the pieces and throws them at her husband's head. Jack's wife arrives, and Pettibone comes in the front door in time to see his friend embracing a woman in the hall. He gets a sword from the wall and chases his friend, who runs out of the window. Husband comes downstairs, sees two women, and knows not what to make of it. Mrs. Pettibone scolds. Jack returns and explains to his wife what he did to Pettibone. Wife scolds.
