Description

When using Chrome, thumbnails might be split on two columns if they are inserted within a column.

Example: https://it.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Parco_Natura_Viva&oldid=97414977

The file is listed between Stegosaurus and Camptosaurus in the code

*''[[Stegosaurus]]''
[[File:2 stegosauri.jpg|miniatura]]
*''[[Camptosaurus]]''

and as you can see the thumbnail is split. Using Microsoft Edge, however, the thumbnail isn't split:

The issue became more evident when I tried to add a caption:

I think it might be a resolution problem. Try to zoom-out the page.

Oh thanks, indeed. Sorry! I can reproduce this in Chromium 65 and not in Firefox 59 - Firefox moves the complete thumbnail and caption to the next column while Chromium maybe tries the same but ignores the height of the surrounding caption when performing that calculation? I'm just guessing though.

Hmm, is there any indicator that this is a problem in MediaWiki code? Looks like a bug in Chromium to me which you (or anyone) could report to the Chromium maintainers at https://bugs.chromium.org/p/gerrit/issues/list
