The Luggage Brand Carried by Celebrities and Royals Just Launched a Soft Suitcase That’s Stylish and Functional

A new suitcase line from Away Luggage has officially landed — and it has something for every kind of packer. 

While it may look like the brand’s signature lineup of sleek hard shell carry-ons, which have been carried by countless celebs like Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Margot Robbie, it feels much different. The Softside suitcase has the classic rectangular, ridged design that Away is known for, but this time, it’s made from soft, squishable nylon that can mold to fit tight spaces, like the back of a closet, or stretch to accommodate more things for overpackers. 

Away Softside Carry-On 

All of the Softside bags are smartly designed with internal compression and an expansion zipper, so you can fit more inside, along with plenty of pockets to keep you organized. The inner flap has two zippered pockets to sort belongings, plus there’s an extra mesh pocket in the top compartment. There are also two hidden external pockets that are easy to access — perfect for any essentials you want within reach while you travel. 

The new design opens from the top rather than the traditional clamshell, which makes it easy to access the inside. The bags have padded handles on the top, sides, and bottom of the suitcase, which makes them easier to lift up into the trunk of a car or an overhead bin. They also have Away’s signature 360-degree wheels that are designed to glide smoothly across any surface.

You can get the Softside luggage in three sizes, including a carry-on, medium checked bag, and large checked bag, and in four sleek colors: Jet Black, Cloud Gray, Coast Blue, and Clay Pink.

Away Softside Bigger Carry-On 

If you’re looking for something a little bigger than a traditional carry-on but still small enough to bring on the plane, the Softside Bigger Carry-On is a good choice. It’s laid out like the brand’s classic bag but provides a little more space to pack. It should fit in most U.S. overhead compartments, so keep that in mind when choosing between this one and the standard Away Carry-On. 

Away Softside Large 

For longer getaways, the Softside Large suitcase is a spacious choice. It offers more structure than a typical duffle and more mailability than hardshell cases.
