Abstract

배터리 관리 시스템 및 배터리 관리 방법이 개시된다. 적어도 하나의 셀을 포함하는 배터리를 관리하는 배터리 관리 시스템은 상기 배터리의 SOC(State of Charge)를 추정하기 위한 추정 파라미터를 결정하는 SOC 추정부 및 상기 추정 파라미터를 근거로 상기 배터리의 충전 및 방전 사이클에 대한 사용 패턴을 예측하기 위한 패턴 테이블을 갱신하는 제어부를 포함한다. 상기 패턴 테이블은 복수의 패턴 카운터를 포함하고, 상기 복수의 패턴 카운터 각각은 복수의 추정 범위에 대응한다. 상기 제어부는 상기 추정 파라미터가 상기 복수의 추정 범위 중 어느 추정 범위에 해당되는지 결정하고, 상기 복수의 패턴 카운터 중 상기 결정된 추정 범위에 대응하는 패턴 카운터의 값을 갱신한다. 본 발명에 따른 배터리 관리 시스템 및 배터리 관리 방법은 배터리의 충전 및 방전 사이클에 대한 사용 패턴을 주기적으로 갱신하고 기록함으로써, 배터리의 정확한 사용 패턴을 추적하고 분석할 수 있어서 배터리의 잔여 수명 예측 및 배터리의 유지 보수를 효과적으로 수행할 수 있다.
