1 Claim, 3 Drawing Figures DATE AND DAY CORRECTING DEVICE The present invention relates to a date and day correcting device of a calendar timepiece, and more particularly to a mechanism for correcting the date and day separately through to the selective rotation of a winding crown.
The conventional data and day correcting methods are as follows:
1. A winding crown is operated at the hand correctmg position;
2. A calendar dial is rotated by the reciprocation of a winding crown or other button;
3. A combination of methods (1) and (2); and
4. calendar dial is rotated by rotating a winding crown.
The methods of (l), (2) and (3), however, have the following defects:
Operation of the date and day correcting arrangement is troublesome, and much time is involved; the position of the hands is shifted. When various shocks such as dropping or tamping are applied to a winding crown or button, the calendar is shifted. The wellknown method (4) requires a complicated construction, occupying too much space and having too many component parts, thereby making the price exorbitant.
' SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Generally speaking, in accordance with the invention, a calendar timepiece is provided having a day and/or date correcting device including an operating member projecting outside of said timepiece; a calendar correcting member for effecting time correction, and means interconnecting said operating member and said calendar correcting member for selectively positioning said calendar correcting member in a calendar correcting position or a neutral position depending on the position of said operating member. Said interconnecting means may include a shaking member formed with an elliptical slot, said calendar correcting member being mounted on a shaft received for free rotation within and free displacement along said slot, and a shake controlling member manipulated bysaid shaking member to position said calendar correcting member in the neutral position.
The object of the present invention is to avoid the above-mentioned defects or disadvantages.
. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIGS. 1 and 2 show a plan view of one embodiment of the present invention; and
bodiment.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS One embodiment of the present invention is shown in the attached drawings in which 1 is a winding crown, 2 is a setting lever which cooperates with said winding crown, 3 is a shaking lever engaging with said setting lever and having an elliptical hole 3a and a projection 3b, 4 is a spring pressing down said shaking lever, 5 is a setting wheel rotatably mounted on said shaking lever 13, 6 is a correcting wheel engaging with said setting wheel 5 and being movable in the range of elliptical hole 30, 7 is a shake controlling lever rotatable around a pin 8 and as high as the projection 3b of said shaking lever and one end 6a of a rotating shaft of said correcting wheel, 9 is a date wheel, 10 is a day wheel, 1 l is an intermediate wheel engaging with said day wheel,l2 is a minute wheel engaging with an hour wheel (not shown), and 13 is a clutch wheel engaging with a setting wheel 5, rotating in a body with a winding crown l, and slidable along the square part la of said winding crown 1. a
The operation of the watch according to the invention is as follows: When winding crown l is rotated clockwise, setting wheel 5 is rotated counterclockwise through clutch wheel 13. At the same time, correcting wheel 6 is moved along elliptical hole 3a of shaking lever 3 toward date wheel 9, and is engaged with date wheel 9. That is to say, date correcting is effected.
On the other hand, when the winding crown is rotated counterclockwise, setting wheel 5 is rotated clockwise, and correcting wheel 6 is moved along elliptical hole 30 of the shaker lever 3 towards intermediate wheel 11, is engaged with the intermediate wheel, and day correcting is effected. Thereafter when the winding crown 1 is pulled out as shown in FIG. 2, thesetting lever 2 is rotated and the shaking lever 3 is rotated clockwise by a spring 4. At this time setting wheel 5, which is engaged with the clutch lever 13, engages with the minute wheel 12. At the same time shake controlling lever 7 is rotated clockwise by a projection 3b of the shaking lever 3 and is contacted with one end 6a of the rotating shaft, controlling one direction of the plane position of the correcting wheel 6. The other directions are controlled by the elliptical hole 3a of the shaking lever 3, i.e., the correcting wheel 6 is placed at a certain position. This position is designed so that the correcting wheel engages neither the date wheel 9 nor the intermediate wheel 11. In this position, if the winding crown l is rotated, the hands are changed independently of date and day correcting.
In the embodiment shown in the drawings, a calendar timepiece having both date and day is described. However, the instant invention is adaptable for a calendar timepiece having either of the two. In addition, the correcting wheel 6 can be engaged directly with the day wheel 10 without the medium of the intermediate wheel 1 l.
As stated above, the present invention relates to date and day correcting device having a very simple structure and having a small number of component parts, wherein date, day and hands can be corrected respectively,making the operation extremely quick and simple, and breakage-caused by interference between the calendar dial advancing device and the calendar correcting device is avoided.
In addition, in respect of structure, the neutral position of the correcting wheel 6 is easily set and does not take up excessive space, since the necessary elements required to establish its position are few. Also, the precision of said neutral position is kept stable. Therefore, the present invention provides a calendar timepiece having a date and day correcting device wherein the operation is simple, troubles are few, which timepiece is obtainable at moderate prices.
What is claimed is:
l. A calendar timepiece having a calendar correcting device comprising displaceable operating member projecting outside of said timepiece and displaceable between first and second operative positions; a calendar wheel; calendar correcting means; means interconnecting said operating member and said calendar correcting means for displacing said calendar correcting means between a first calendar correcting position at which said calendar correcting means is operatively coupled to said calendar wheel and a neutral position at which said calendar correcting member is out of operative engagement with said calendar wheel in response to the displacement of said operating member between its first and second operative positions, said interconnecting means including a pivotably mounted shaking member pivotable in response to the displacement of said operating member between said first and second operative positions, and operatively coupled to said calendar correcting means for the displacement thereof, a shake controlling member pivotable by said shaking member for cooperating directly with said shaking member for retaining said calendar correcting means at said neutral position, said shaking member being formed with an elongated slot therethrough, and a shaft for rotatably supporting said calendar correcting means, said shaft being laterally displaceable along said elongated slot, said shake controlling member engaging said shaft against one end of said slot for positioning said calendar correcting means at said neutral position.
