Abstract

An improved cutting board that is capable of simultaneously providing a top cutting surface with perforated drain holes and a pan for containment of juices. The apparatus comprises a polymeric plastic cutting surface, with perforated and elongated drain holes spaced at intervals along the cutting surface with legs for support attached to a stainless steel pan for the containment of juices. A pour spout is oriented in one of the corners to pour out the juices with ease.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of Invention
  • The present invention relates generally to devices for carving meats, poultry, ham or fish, during the carving operations. More specifically, the present invention is a single manufactured unit carving board, capable of carving meat, poultry, ham or fish.
  • 2. Discussion of the Prior Art
  • In the existing forms of carving meats on cutting boards, the retrieving of juices is messy process.
  • However, in many other forms of carving meats, it is not necessary or desirable to save the juice from the carvings.
  • For instance, the carving of the meat on cutting boards causes the juices to run off the carving board onto the surface where the carving takes place, therefore the juices have to be wiped clean and disposed of.
  • Throughout the years, a variety of methods have been designed in carving boards. None of these methods have been developed to save the juice from the carvings in a simple manner.
  • Similar devices have also been developed for the use of carving meats. For instance some cutting boards have been designed with grooves. Again, the design of the cutting board is not for the purpose of containing the juices from the carvings.
  • Other cutting boards have been developed with handles for ease of lifting.
  • Despite these efforts to provide suitable carving boards, the existing prior art devices are limited in many respects. Most notably, the prior art has not provided a simple assembly that is capable of containing all the juices from a single carving. Nor has the prior art provided a holder to contain all the juices of multiple carving's. Finally, the prior art is not a device that is a single assembly which allows for easy cleaning.
  • Thus is an object of the present invention to provide a cutting board comprised of a combination of polymeric plastic and stainless steel, with a plurality of perforated holes and four elongated perforated holes that is capable of containing the juices while carving meat.
  • It is a further object of the present invention to provide such a process that allows to contain juices to be used for further use.
  • It is a further object of the present invention to provide a carving board that is easy to manufacture using inexpensive and readily available materials.
  • It is a further object of the present invention to provide a carving board that is easy to use, durable and easy to clean.
  • It is a further object of the present invention to provide a pour spout in the stainless steel pan designed to pour out the juices with ease.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • These and a number of additional objects are obtained through the present invention. In a basic aspect, the present invention is a carving board part polymeric plastic and the other part stainless steel, with a plurality of perforated holes and four elongated perforated holes to allow juices from meat to seep thru the carving board into an attached stainless steel pan while carving meat. The apparatus comprises a stainless steel pan for containing juices, hollow stainless steel legs for support and a combination of polymeric plastic and stainless steel cutting board with a plurality of perforated holes spaced at intervals to allow juices to seep into a stainless steel pan for containment. A pour spout designed to pour the juices out with ease.
  • The apparatus is durable and easy to manufacture, using inexpensive and readily available materials. In addition, the apparatus is easy to use, and easy to clean.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 of the drawing is a top view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the details thereof.
  • FIG. 2 of the drawing is a front view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the details thereof.
  • FIG. 3 of the drawing is a sectional view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the details thereof.
  • FIG. 4 of the drawing is a sectional view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the details thereof.
  • FIG. 5 of the drawing is a isometric view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the details thereof.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • The details of the preferred embodiment of the present invention are shown in FIGS. 1-5 of the drawing. Turning to FIG. 5, The Carve Smart 8, generally comprises a stainless steel drip pan 6, solid plastic leg supports 4-5, carving board comprised of polymeric plastic 1, a plurality of perforated holes 2, elongated perforated holes 3, and a pour spout 7.

Claims (9)

1. A cutting board and container for containment of carvings from meats, poultry, ham or fish, comprising:
a. A cutting surface comprised of polymeric plastic, with a plurality of perforated drain holes;
b. A stainless steel containment pan for the containment of juices;
c. Solid leg supports for supporting and securing the cutting surface above the stainless steel containment plan; and
d. A pour spout oriented in one of the corners of the stainless steel containment pan to pour out the juices with ease.
2. The cutting board surface of claim 1 comprising of polymeric plastic with a plurality of perforated holes and elongated perforated holes to allow juices from carvings to seep thru the cutting board surface into an attached stainless steel pan for containment.
3. The stainless steel containment pan of claim 1 placed and attached directly under the cutting board surface for the containment of juices.
4. The stainless steel containment pan of claim 3 with the cooperating support structure including upwardly-extending lips about the perimeters of each solid leg support for securing the cutting surface to the stainless steel containment plan, the lips being sized slightly larger than perimeter of the solid leg supports.
