With the present device, each of the stubs 5 is provided along the right hand edge with a column 10 having the heading checks 10 at the upper end thereof, in which the amount of the respective checks can be writ ten. Each set of stubs is also provided along` the left hand end edge thereof with a column 11 having the heading deposits 11", in order that the deposits can be entered in the column 11. Balances can be taken from time to time, as indicated in Fig. 1, and since 0th columns 10 and 11 are readily accessible, this provides a. Complete and satisfactory arrangement.

It is also preferable to rule the under sides of the stubs 5, as at 12, whereby when the stubs are turned upv` meiiloranda may be written thereon, the under surface of eaeh being, provided with a suitable desired.

The structure shown in Fig.v 3 is similar to that shown in Fig. 1, and in addition the sheets 3 are provided at their left hand ends with transverse strips 14 at those edges of the stubs 5 opposite to the cheeks 4. rlhe stubs 5 are rendered detachable from the. strips 14 by transverse lines of perforations 15 between the strips 14 and stubs 5 and paralle] with the lines of perforations 6. The web 2" between the back l and cover 2 extends around the strips 14 and provides a inding uniting said strips and the correspending ends of the sheets 3. This holds the left hand ends of the sheets'lirmly in place, but as the checks are removed, the stubs 5 can be torn loose from the strips 14, as seen in Fig. 3, but the web 2 and cover 2 are still firmly connected with the strips 14. and back 1.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimedas new is A check book comprisinrr a back, a pad of sheets mounted on the back, each .sheet perforated to form a stub and a check. said stubs secured together and to the back along their upper edges, a cover, and a flexible web secured to the respective ends of the back and the cover to form a hinge whereby the cover may be folded over upon the pad and may be swung free of the stubs to allow the stubs to be folded upwardly for easy inspection of the stubs. v
