i {upper and lower ceiling and floor walk of halls, rooms, and the like, in maintaining a substantially uniform temperature/throughout by providmg for a constant circulation of air between the portions thereof, thereby preventing the accumulation of relatively warm and cold non-circulating zones of air thereby also reducing ,the number of heat units required to establish and maintain the recglired temperature.

With the above mentioned and other ends in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement, and combination of parts, hereinafter described, illustrated in some of its embodiments in the accompanying drawings, and particularly pointed out in the appended claims. N

In the formor embodiment shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings the airconduit consists of a vertically arranged depending ceiling pipe 12, and a second vertically arranged pipe 13, adjustably connected to the pipe 12, through the medium of a clamping ring 14, the lower end of the pipe 13, being connected to a fan housing 15, mounted upon a conduit base section 16, the latter being provided with the air eduction ports 1, constructed and arranged as hereinbefore described.
In the form or embodiment shown in Fig. 3, the air conduit is in the form of a hollow column or pillar 17, and the fan 5, and
motor 7, are arrangedwithin the base portion thereofso as to' be concealed from view as well as to disguise the entire apparatus in the form of an ordinary column or pillar.

Having thus described some of the embodiments of my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is,- 1. In a ventilating apparatus, the combination with a ceiling-and a floor, and a vertically arranged air conduit pipe having air inlet ports near said ceiling; of a fan and 'fan housing mounted on said floor connected to the lower end of said air conduit pipe, said fan housing being provided with air and means for opening and closing said air eduction ports whereby to regulate the suction exerted by said fan.

In a ventilating apparatus, the combination with a ceiling and a floor, and a vertically arranged air conduit having air inlet ports near said ceiling and air eduction ports near said floor; of a'suction device within said air conduit above said air' eduction ports, and means for regulating or opening and closing said air eduction ports whereby to regulate the suction exerted by said suction device.
