Abstract

The invention concerns an arc shield to be used in connection with the conductors 1 in an insulated overhead power line provided with a thin layer of insulation, comprising at least one metal pole 2 intended to absorb the flash effect from the base point of the arc and in electrical contact with the conductor 1 and a bare current path parallel to the insulated conductor placed at its point of suspension. In this way all the requisite components are provided and in addition the construction is simple as regards installation, as the abovementioned bare current path consists of a metallic binding wire 3 whereby the conductor 1 is fastened to the insulator. <IMAGE>
