Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the energy loss in a hydraulic speed change by setting the rotating speed of an electric motor at rest or a low level in the neutral center of the range position or parking position of the hydraulic speed changer. CONSTITUTION:In starting, a manual valve 19 is placed certainly in (N) or (P) position, and, as a signal 35 comes in, a speed control means 31 rotates a motor 24 at the first speed of a low speed so as to drive a pump 16 slightly, so that oil is sent to a torque converter 2 and the inside part thereof is filled with the oil. At this time, the rotating speed of the motor 24 is extremely low and the driving horse power is restrained at the minimum. Following this, when the manual valve 19 is shifted to a position 1 for starting, the pumping pressure of the oil pump 16 is sent to a first clutch (C1) via a servo-piston 22. When a pedal 38 is stepped, the motor 24 is driven at the second and third speed in order that the discharging pressure of the pump 16 is obtained sufficiently and the pump discharging pressure is made suitably for keeping the clutch in the enough coupling force and then the vehicle is started. In this manner, the speed of the motor 24 is controlled in accordance with the transmission torque or the running state of the vehicle.
