An outboard motor in which cooling water sucked up by a water pump flows through a water tube, passes through an under oil seal housing, cools the engine area, and then passes through the under oil seal housing again to be discharged to the outside. In this cooling device, a part of the cooling water in the going or returning water tube is guided to the upper surface of the under oil seal housing through the penetration part of the under oil seal housing, and the exhaust pipe fixed to the lower surface of the under oil seal housing is guided. A hollow water channel is formed in the flange portion of the exhaust tube along the wall surface of the exhaust tube body, and the cooling water is introduced into the water channel through a first small hole bored in the under oil seal housing. A cooling device for an outboard motor, characterized in that the cooling water is sprayed onto the wall surface of the exhaust tube body through a second small hole formed in the bottom surface of the water channel toward the wall surface of the exhaust tube body.
