Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent heat convection caused by partial heating and caulking, and to separate insoluble substances efficiently, by separating the insoluble substances through gravitational force sedimentation while the formed product of coal liquefaction is being subjected to uniform lagging control in a tank having a double wall structure.
CONSTITUTION: The formed product of coal liquefaction is introduced from the inlet 5 to the sedimentation tank 1 while superheated steam having the same temperature as that of the formed product is introduced from a steam boiler through the feed opening 8 to the space 4, the steam taken out from the other end of the exhaust vent 9 is again returned to the steam boiler so that the steam is circulated. In the formed product of coal liquefaction introduced to the inner tank 2 in the tank 1, the insoluble solid substances are allowed to settle and separated from the solution by the action of gravitational force, deposited on the bottom, the solution from which the insoluble substances are removed is overflown and exhausted from the exhaust vent 6 to the outside.
