Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit a heat pipe to have function of a heat engine by providing a turbine in a path through a which an operative substance flows in the heat pipe to take out energy held by the operative substance.
CONSTITUTION: The inner surface of a container A constituting a heat pipe is covered by a wick while the container A is formed on the lower end with an evaporating portion E and on the upper end with a condensing portion CD and receives an operative substance which changes its phase between liquid and gas. Further in the intermediate portion 2a of an insulating flow path 2 between the evaporating and condensing portions E, CD is provided a turbine T the rotary shaft 3 of which is connected to an output taking-out transmission gear 5 through a bearing 4. When heat H is applied to the evaporating portion E, the substance in the wick 1 evaporates and flows along the insulating flow path 2 in the direction of arrow, and, when passing by the intermediate portion 2a, rotates the turbine T by its energy to rotate the rotary shaft 3 the rotation of which is taken out by the transmission gear 5.
