Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve safety characteristic by a method wherein a temperature sensor for sensing a surface temperature of a burner plate is made of material of which electrical resistance value is varied in response to a variation in temperature and a control over the termination of combustion is performed when a value less than a desired temperature is sensed. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a temperature sensor 10 of ceramic for use in sensing a surface temperature of the burner plate 1 of ceramic on which the combustion flame is formed, the temperature sensor 10 is formed by a member whose electric resistance is varied in response to the variation in temperature. When the temperature sensor 10 senses the value less than the desired temperature, the solenoid valve 9 is closed by a control device 8, a supplying of gas to the nozzle 3 is shut off to terminate the combustion. Thereby, when an incomplete combustion is found, the combustion is terminated and is not continued, so that a safety characteristic may be assured.
