Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniform brightness in the lengthwise direction by covering light emitting diodes linearly arrayed, with a focusing reflective frame and providing a rod lens on the opening surface of the reflective frame. CONSTITUTION:On a printed substrate 1, light emitting diodes 4 are arrayed in a line, and a focusing reflective frame 2 is fixed to the printed substrate 1 so that the light emitting diodes are positioned in the center of the hollow surface part of the reflective frame 2. On the opening surface of the reflective frame 2, a rod lens 3 is fixed by using trnsparent epoxy resin. Luminuous flux from the light emitting diodes is reflected by the reflective frame to travel forward with efficiency and is condensed by the rod lens 3, thus obtaining a uniform beltlike light-irradiated surface L with constant width. The distance between the light emitting diodes and the lens surface is made constant and the diameter of the lens 3 is varied to vary the focal length.
