Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a Mo-Bi-Sb catalyst with high yield, by subjecting an aqueous solution containing a Mo compound, a Bi compound, and Sb2O3 to a heating treatment under a specific condition.
CONSTITUTION: As a catalyst to be used in the manufacture of an unsaturated nitrile, e.g., acrylonitrile, from the reaction of an olefin, e.g., propylene, with ammonia and oxygen in a gas phase at high temperatures, an aqueous slurry containing a Mo compound, a Bi compound, and As2O3 is heat-treated at 40W150°C for at least 30min after its pH is adjusted to 7 or less, to obtain a Mo-Bi-Sb catalyst in a high yield.
