Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce pump power consumption by a method wherein the exhaust pressures of a plurality of variable pumps driven by a single motor are made to communicate with one another by the provision of pilot circuits.
CONSTITUTION: The pressures behind first chokes 19 and 20 are applied on servo valves 11 and 12 of the control sections 8 and 9 of the first and the second variable pumps 1 and 2, respectively, which are driven by the single motor 4 and the pressure of a discharge circuit 5 of the first variable pump is applied on a switching valve 24 of the second variable pump through the first pilot circuit 27 and the pressure of a discharge circuit 6 of the second variable pump 2 is applied on a switching valve 23 of the first variable pump 1 through the second pilot circuit 28. Further, the first and the second pilot circuits 27 and 28 are made to open through change- over valves 30 and 31 which are actuated by the exhaust pressure of the third variable pump 3. As a result, the first and the second variable pumps 1 and 2 can accommodate their outputs with each other while the third variable pump 3 is in use and the outputs of the variable pumps 1 and 2 can be increased when the variable pump 3 is not in use.
