Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the extracted and purified stevioside, by treating a water- or hydrated alcohol-extract of stevia leaves with calcium chloride, thereby coagulating and precipitating the colloidal impurities existing in the extract.
CONSTITUTION: 1kg of dried leaves of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni, are immersed in 3W10 liters of water or a hydrated alcohol to extract stevioside. The extract is concentrated to the solid content of 10W50wt%, and added with 0.1W5wt%, based on the concentrated liquid, of calcium chloride to coagulated and precipitate the colloidal impurities existing in the extract.
