Abstract

PURPOSE: To converse oxidation-reduction resin easily by an electrochemical method without use of a chemical oxidant or reductant for regeneration as well as using an electrode consisting of insoluble oxidation-reduction resin and a conductive substance in the manufacture of H2O2, etc., simply.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of an insoluble oxidation-reduction resin and a conductive substance powder (e.g., carbon powder), for example, is filled in the metal column 2 with the porous supporting plate 5, and then the lead wire 4 is connected to the metal column 2 to form the electrode 1. Then, the electrode 1 is connected with the metal column of the counter electrode 6 connected through the insulating substance 8 to the lead wire 7 to form an electrolytic column. When O2-saturated water is circulated in the column of a reductive resin to form H2O2 and its reductivity is lost, a current is flowed across the counter electrode 6 by using the electrode 1 side as cathode, whereby permitting the reductivity of O2 to be regenerated by conversion. Also, a resin aggregate obtained by coating a conductive particle with a resin or the press molding of a conductive particle coated with a resin may be used.
