Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:N-(α-methylbenzyl)-N'-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)urea of formula I.
USE: Agriculatural and horticultural fungicide. Effective to downey mildew of cucumbers and late blight of tomatoes, at low concentration.
PROCESS: The objective compound I, which is a colorless acicular crystal having a m.p. of 150W151°C, is prepared by reacting 3,4-dichloroaniline II dissolved in anhydrous benzene, with α-methylbenzylisocyanate III adding two drops of triethylamine.
