Claims (3)
- 排気ガスが流通可能な排気通路に設置された酸化触媒と、
排気ガスが流れる方向で前記酸化触媒よりも上流側に設置され、排気温度を検出する上流側排気温度センサと、
排気ガスが流れる方向で前記酸化触媒よりも下流側に設置され、排気温度を検出する下流側排気温度センサと、
エンジン運転時、前記酸化触媒に未燃燃料が供給されない状態で、前記上流側排気温度センサが検出した排気温度と、前記下流側排気温度センサが検出した排気温度と、の相関関係に基づいて、前記酸化触媒が正常に機能しているか否かを判定する制御装置と、
を備え、
前記制御装置は、温度差計算部と、判定部と、を備え、
前記温度差計算部は、エンジン運転時、前記酸化触媒に未燃燃料が供給されない状態で、前記上流側排気温度センサが検出した排気温度と、前記下流側排気温度センサが検出した排気温度と、の温度差を計算し、
前記判定部は、前記温度差計算部が計算した温度差の絶対値が予め定められた温度閾値よりも大きいか否かを判定する判定[1]を行うことを特徴とするエンジン。 - 請求項1に記載のエンジンであって、
前記制御装置は、ベクトル計算部を備え、
前記ベクトル計算部は、
前記上流側排気温度センサが検出した排気温度の所定時間での変化に基づく上流側の温度変化速度ベクトルと、
前記下流側排気温度センサが検出した排気温度の所定時間での変化に基づく下流側の温度変化速度ベクトルと、
を計算し、
前記温度変化速度ベクトルは、互いに直交する第1ベクトルと第2ベクトルの和として表現され、
前記第1ベクトルの長さが前記所定時間を示し、
前記第2ベクトルの向き及び長さが前記排気温度の変化の向き及び大きさを示し、
前記判定部は、前記上流側の温度変化速度ベクトルと前記下流側の温度変化速度ベクトルとがなす角度が大きくなるに従って大きくなるパラメータが予め定められた閾値よりも大きいか否かを判定する判定[2]を行うことを特徴とするエンジン。 - 請求項2に記載のエンジンであって、
前記制御装置は、前記判定[1]によっても前記判定[2]によっても前記酸化触媒が正常に機能していると判定されなかった状態が所定時間継続した場合に、前記酸化触媒に未燃燃料を供給して、前記酸化触媒の機能についての診断を行うことを特徴とするエンジン。
