Description
(1)カバー硬度(スラブ硬度)
カバー用組成物を熱プレス成形により、厚み約2mmのシートに成形し、23℃で2週間保存した。このシートを、測定基板等の影響が出ないように、3枚以上重ねた状態で、ASTM−D2240に規定するスプリング式硬度計ショアD型を用いて測定した。
高化式フローテスター(島津製作所製製)で、内径1mm、長さ1mmのオリフィスを使用し、荷重588N(59.96Kgf)、昇温速度3℃/分で、カバー用組成物の流動開始温度を測定した。
ゴルフボールまたはソリッドコアに初荷重98N(10kgf)から終荷重1275N(130kgf)負荷したときの圧縮変形量(圧縮方向にボールが縮む量)を測定した。
各ゴルフボールに、200gのアルミニウム製円筒物を速度45m/秒で衝突させ、衝突前後の該円筒物及びゴルフボールの速度を測定し、それぞれの速度及び質量から、各ゴルフボールの反発係数を算出した。測定は、各ゴルフボールについて5回行って、その平均を算出し、各ゴルフボールの結果とした。尚、反発係数は、ゴルフボールNo.6のゴルフボールの反発係数を100として、指数化した数値であり、反発指数が大きいほど、反発性が高いことを示している。
ツルーテンパー社製スイングロボットマシンにメタルヘッド製ウッドl番クラブ(W#1、ドライバー)を取付け、ヘッドスピード50m/秒に設定して各ボールを打撃し、飛距離を測定した。飛距離としては、ゴルフボールの打撃地点から停止地点までの飛距離(トータル)を測定し、ゴルフボールNo.6の飛距離を100とした時の指数で表した。測定は、各ゴルフボールについて5回ずつ行って、その平均値を算出して各ゴルフボールの結果とした。
ツルーテンパー社製スイングロボットマシンに市販のピッチングウェッジ(PW)を取付け、ヘッドスピード36m/秒に設定して各ゴルフボールの2箇所を、各1回打撃し、打撃部分を目視で観察して、下記基準に基づいて3段階で評価した。
○:ボール表面に傷がわずかに残るが、ほとんど気にならない。
△:ボール表面に傷がはっきり残り、若干の毛羽立ちが見られる。
×:ボール表面がかなり削れ、毛羽立ちが目立つ。
JIS K 7210に準じて、荷重2.16kgf、温度230℃で測定した。
(1)コアの製造
表1に示す配合組成のコア用ゴム組成物を混合、混練りし、半球上キャビティを有する上下金型内で170℃で15分間加熱プレスすることにより、直径41.2mmの球状コアを得た。得られたコアの圧縮変形量は、2.95mmであった。

表2に示す配合組成のカバー用原料を二軸混練型押出機によりミキシングして、ペレット上のカバー用組成物を調整した。押出し条件は、スクリュー系45mm、スクリュー回転数200rpm、スクリューL/D=35であり、配合物は押出し機のダイの位置で200〜260℃に加熱された。

得られたカバー用組成物を射出成形により半球殻上のハーフシェルに成形し、これを2枚用いて上述のようにして得られたコアを包み、金型内で表3に示す温度で2分間加熱プレスしてカバー層を形成した。上述のようにして得られたゴルフボールを金型から取り出し、バリ取りをした後、表面にクリアーペイントを塗装して、直径42.8mm、質量45.4gを有するゴルフボールNo.1〜10を得た。得られたゴルフボールについて、上述した評価測定方法に基づいて、圧縮変形量、反発係数、飛行性能、耐擦過傷性を評価した。評価結果を表3に示した。
Claims (4)
- コアと該コアを被覆するポリウレタンカバーとを有するゴルフボールにおいて、
前記ポリウレタンカバーが、ポリイソシアネート、ポリオール、及び、鎖延長剤を含有する反応組成物の反応物である熱可塑性ポリウレタンエラストマーを基材樹脂として含有し、
前記反応組成物中の鎖延長剤成分の含有量が3〜20質量%の範囲であり、
前記鎖延長剤は、イソシアネート基に対する反応性官能基を3個以上有する化合物1〜10質量%及びイソシアネート基に対する反応性官能基を2個有する化合物を全鎖延長剤中に90〜99質量%からなるものであることを特徴とするゴルフボール。 - 前記反応組成物は、前記反応性官能基を3個以上有する化合物を0.05〜2.0質量%構成成分として含有するものである請求項1に記載のゴルフボール。
