潜像画像としてもしくは画像を隠蔽するという形で使わ
れているが、耐性とくに耐熱性が劣ることから用途が限
定される。また、繰り返し表示可能な媒体としてフォト
クロミックインキがあり、このフォトクロミックインキ
は、光、特に紫外線を照射することにより発色するイン
キで、白色もしくは無色透明のインキがあることより潜
像画像として用いられているが、耐性とくに耐光性が弱
いことより用途が限定されている。また、蛍光インキは
紫外線を照射することにより発行するインキで、白色ま
たは無色透明のインキがあることより潜像画像として用
いられている。この蛍光インキには有機タイプと無機タ
イプがあり、有機タイプは印刷インキ中にごく少量含有
するだけで発光が確認されるが、耐光性が弱いため用途
が限定される。また、無機タイプは印刷インキ中に多く
