Abstract
A personal care device, such as a hair blower, a hair dryer, a fan-heater, or the like, including at least 2 sets of independently switchable heating elements which are actuated during non-overlapping half-cycles when said device is selected to operate at a pre-defined setting corresponding to a condition below the maximum heating power level. This device provides variable heating power output by non-dissipative means and at the same time reduces adverse harmonics.
