Abstract

771,282. Platform hoists. SOGENI SOC. GENERALE PER L'INDUSTRIA. Aug. 5, 1955 [Aug. 7, 1954], No. 22669/55. Class 78 (3). An hydraulic platform hoist comprises telescopic cylinders 5, 10, 15 housed in a cylinder 1 fixed in the ground and into which oil under pressure is delivered through a pipe 3 by a pump, the cylinder 15 being fitted at its upper end with a ring 21 connected by bolts 22 to a bracket 23 supporting the lifting platform 24. The cylinders 5, 10, 15 are formed with metal rings 6, 11, 17 which, when these cylinders slide outwardly, serve as guiding slippers and also as stops to engage rings 7, 12, 18 on the cylinders 1, 5, 10 respectively. These latter rings are fitted with packing rings 9, 14, 20. When the platform reaches its maximum height, a valve (not shown) set for a predetermined pressure, actuates a switch to stop the pump.
