Abstract

611,753. Machinery mountings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and RUSSELL, R. C. H. May 2, 1946, No. 13260. [Class 80 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXII] A resilient mounting comprises a rubber sheet 1 having on each side a plurality of integral rubber studs 2, 3 of equal height arranged in regular rows and columns, each stud being symmetrically placed with respect to the four nearest studs on the opposite face. The studs 2, 3 which may be of square circular or other cross-section are dimensioned in relation to the thickness of the sheet 1 so that the mounting may be equally resistant to loads applied in different directions. The studs 2, 3 may be moulded integral with, or may be adhesively secured to, the sheet. Metal plates (Fig. 3, not shown) may be adhesively secured to the outer faces of the studs 2, 3. In mounting large machines, a slab of concrete is interposed between the rubber sheet and the machine base and may be sunk with lateral clearance in a well. Sheets 1 may also be interposed between the sides of the block and the sides of the well.
