Abstract
An alloy steel having good mechanical properties at high temperatures comprises above 7 but not more than 15 per cent of chromium, 15-25 per cent of tungsten, and 7-15 per cent of nickel; 0,6-1,5 per cent of carbon and up to 2 per cent of vanadium or titanium may also be present. The steel may be quenched from a temperature between 1100 and 1300 DEG C. and tempered from between 700 and 900 DEG C. British Specifications 245,792, [Class 82 (i)], and 352,964, and German Specification 626,295 are referred to.
