Abstract

1511114 Spray-producers STANADYNE Inc 1 March 1976 [14 March 1975] 08105/76 Heading B2F A shower head, capable of providing selectively either a steady spray discharge or a pulsating discharge, comprises a housing containing a diverter 24 movable between a steady discharge position, Fig. 4, and a pulsating discharge position, Fig. 5, said diverter having a chamber 38 formed therein, tangential passages 54 connecting an inlet 56 and the chamber, in the Fig. 5 position, and an oscillating plate 40 pivotally mounted in the chamber and arranged to cause water whirling in the chamber to issue from slots or grooves defined between members 46 and 66 as a pulsating discharge. In the Fig. 4 position, water flowing into an annular space 76 centres a spray-forming member 64 formed with grooves or notches 80 to produce a conical spray. The diverter is reciprocated manually by an external handle and a rack and pinion 28, 20. The plate 40 is pivoted eccentrically on a projection on member 46. Alternatively the plate may carry the projection.
