Abstract

1403832 Copy-milling machine details; grinding FRANZ KUHLMANN KG 10 April 1973 [11 April 1972] 17231/73 Headings B3B B3K and B3D The worktable 1 for use in a milling or grinding machine 2 comprises a lower portion 3, and an upper portion 4 movable towards and away from portion 3 on guides 10 fixed to portion 3, by a screw and nut drive 9, 14, the screw being rotated by means 15, 16; 17. The height of portion 4 is varied by gears 16, 17, rotated by an electric motor 15. The tool spindle 22 is rotated by a belt drive 25. Portion 4 of table 1 may be moved in a stepwise manner relative to tool 24, the switching pulses being supplied to motor 15 by hand, or by a photoelectric reader head or it may be moved continuously. A handwheel or fluid cylinder may be provided in addition to, or instead of motor 15. Tool 24 may be a shaping tool, which operates on a vertically reciprocating workpiece.
