Abstract

1474901 Cable fastener UNITED CARR Ltd 21 Aug 1974 [29 Aug 1973] 40757/73 Heading E2B A fastening device for tying together cables &c comprises two resilient, coaxial helical portion of opposite hand when unstressed and extending through at least one full turn of a helix, being self-supporting but able to be sprung open manually. As shown in Figs. 4, 5, the fastener 30 comprises helical portions 33, 34 wound on opposite hands and a base formed of plate 35, an arm 36 joining it to portions 33, 34 and stud portion 32 having two legs 37, 38 having shoulders 39, 40 for engagement with an aperture 41 in a panel 42. The fastener may alternatively have a screwhole (14, Fig. 1, not shown) for attachment to a support. It is preferably made from plastics e.g. nylon but may be metal or a metal alloy.
