Single coatings.-A floor covering comprises a base 1 of felt impregnated with a semi-solid bituminous material and a wearing-surface 3 of linseed-oil composition, the base 1 having perfora. tions 2 into which some of the material 3 is forced when pressure is applied. The perforations may be undercut, and an asphalt binder may be employed between the base and the material 3 and extending into the perforations.
