Abstract

1,136,003. Door hinges. GEBR KISO. 1 April, 1966 [15 June, 1965], No. 14483/66. Heading E2F. A door hinge comprises two hinge leaves with a pivotal interconnection between the leaves, a casing adapted to be secured to a door post and having a slot into which the first leaf projects, and means releasably securing the first leaf to the casing, said slot being open at its end adjacent the hinge pivot so that the first leaf may be withdrawn from the casing in a direction at right angles to the hinge pivot, the second leaf being adapted to be attached to a door. In the embodiment shown by the plan of Fig. 4, a hinge comprises a casing I attached to doorpost 19, a leaf 2 which fits into slot 11, the leaf 2 having a part 3 having a screw-threaded bolt projecting into a part 4 of the other leaf 5 fastened to door 9; the leaf 2 has a hole 13 through which screw 14 passes and is screwed into tapped hole 16 and tapped hole 15 in a boss on the casing 1. A modification of the releasable fastening shown in Fig. 6 comprises hinge leaf 20 secured by a captive screw 21 in casing 22 of plastic, which is provided with notches and flanges for the movement and support of the, screw, and also a metal plate 28 for support of the screw. Tightening of the screw results in a single clamped joint between the casing and leaf.
