Abstract

Clamp arrangement providing a large gripping surface in contact with the outer sheath of an electrical cable. Sufficient pressure is exerted to withstand longitudinal strains acting the pull the cable from its panel or terminating connector. Three gripping jaws with grooved inner surfaces form part sections of a cylinder of some elastic material. The lower ends of the jaw pieces are attached by a thin wall to a base ring from which they may be forced inward onto the cable being held, compression of the jaws is achieved by two bolts being tightened, drawing a tapered base and entry piece together between which the jaws fit.
