Abstract
Appts. for the prodn. of metal film, consisting of a bath with a circular interior wall contg. an electrolyte, and radial walls used to divide the bath into a series of isolated cells each contg. an anode insulated from the circular wall, at least part of an endless cathode travels through the bath and is concentric with the anodes, and an electric power supply is connected to the cathode and the anodes, a separate variable resistance is provided for each anode and metal is deposited on the cathode in each separate cell to form the film. The bath is pref. annular in shape, the cathode being a ring rotating near to the inner circular wall of the bath. Appts. is used e.g. for the mfr. of a film 10 meters long, 50 mu m thick contg 73% Ni, 20% Fe, 7% Mo, with anisotropic magnetic properties.
