Abstract
The heating plate uses insulating glass or ceramic material as a base (1) on which may be printed or laid a network of resistive lines arranged such that failure of any particular section does not seriously impair the functioning of the heater, i.e. there is some element of redundancy. Input points at the extreme ends of the plate feed two conductors (4) with parallel branched equispaced resistive paths which again branch off parallel to the heater side and then return again to form closed loops. The shape of the loop may be varied providing that each junction point (5) is reached by at least three electrical paths.
