Abstract

The invention relates to a method for production of galactooligosaccharides-containing milk-based products that as a part of a regular diet has beneficial physiological effects, and hence is capable of enhancing colon health and improving gastrointestinal conditions. The invention further relates to a use of the product as such, having laxative or bifidogenic effect, or as prebiotic ingredient for use in the preparation of functional foodproducts.
