A method for the production of higher volume extruded catalyst particles of macropores, comprising: a) mixing a refractory inorganic oxide, in powder form, with a lubricant-binder; b) adding a peptizing agent and a water-soluble surfactant to it; c) extruding the resulting paste; and d) drying and calcining the extruded product.
