Abstract
A process for producing a stretch paper, in which a wet web is first formed by kraft pulp and a portion of the moisture is removed from the web, after which the wet web is crimped, characterized in that the kinky wet web is embossed then to produce a pattern across a surface thereof, consisting of a plurality of spaced apart compressed grooves that generally extend transversely to the curl creases of the web, after which the embossed and curled web is finally dried while simultaneously removing a substantial amount of curl by pulling.
