Abstract

The mechanism forms one of the radial arms of a bottle washing carousel. The gripping device (1) comprises two grips (15) symmetrical with rotating base unit (8) which hold the neck of the bottle. Guide roller (18) situated between concentric guides (19,20) causes rotation of mechanism (1) to invert the bottle over nozzle (96). Valve (2) compresses a flexible tube passing through the valve to control flow of wash liquid from nozzle (96). The liquid falls into tray (94), and is collected by one or more suction nozzles fixed to guide (20) to dip into the tray when holding mechanism (1) is rotated. The bottles are again inverted and the grips released on reaching the exit position
