Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Steuerung einer Gefahrenmeldeanlage sowie eine Gefahrenmeldeanlage. Derartige Gefahrenmeldeanlagen weisen häufig eine Brandmeldezentrale auf, mit der eine Vielzahl von Gefahrenmeldern und Alarmeinrichtungen verbunden ist. Beispielsweise in großen Bürogebäuden können über die Brandmeldezentrale dann die einzelnen Gefahrenmelder überwacht werden. Sofern von einem oder mehreren Gefahrenmeldern ein Gefahrenzustand, beispielsweise ein Brand, detektiert wird, kann die Brandmeldezentrale einige oder sämtliche der Alarmeinrichtungen aktivieren, so dass beispielsweise eine Evakuierung des Gebäudes erfolgen kann. Um eine solche Evakuierung geordnet ablaufen zu lassen, sind häufig mehrere Alarmeinrichtungen anzusteuern, die dann in sich überschneidenden Zeiträumen ihr beispielsweise akustisches Alarmsignal, aussenden. Problematisch ist dabei, dass es bei sich einander überlagernden Signalverläufen und bei bestimmten Frequenzen der Signaltöne zu einem Gemisch von Signaltönen unterschiedlicher Alarmeinrichtungen kommen kann, so dass der ursprüngliche Signalton nicht mehr erkennbar bzw. unterscheidbar ist.
