Abstract
A hand-held showerhead sliding bar set extension (20) is comprised of an upright pipe (25) inserted with a retainer (26) to hold the showerhead that longitudinally slides up and down along the upright pipe (25); both ends of the upright pipe being each connected to a retractable device (23,24;33,34); the retractable device includes a hollow outer sleeve (24;34) and an inner sleeve (23;33) pivoted in the outer sleeve (24;34); the outer sleeve (24;34) being directly or indirectly fastened to the wall; and the upright pipe (25) being connected at where between two inner sleeves (23;33); the showerhead may be adjusted to stay far away from the wall to fend off the sense of compression particularly when the user is a fat or husky person.
Description
- The present invention is related to a hand-held showerhead sliding bar set extension, and more particularly, to one that allow the user to adjust the distance between the showerhead and the wall to such he/she feels more comfortable depending on his/her type of build.
- Referring to Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawings for a
stationary showerhead 10 fixed to a wall, a shut-offvalve 11 to control water supply is provided below theshowerhead 10. When having a shower, one stands below theshowerhead 10. As illustrated in Fig. 2, a hand heldshowerhead 14 is provided and a shut-offvalve 12 is disposed at where lower and connected with ahose 13 to theshowerhead 14; and aretainer 15 is provided to retain theshower 14. In practice, either of the prior art fails to permit its user, particularly a fat or husky person feeling comfortable while taking a shower as he/she is forced to get closer to the wall that presents significant sense of compression. - The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide an improved construction of a hand held showerhead that allows adjustment of the distance between the showerhead and the wall depending on the type of build of the user. For a fat or husky user, the showerhead can be adjusted to stay farther away from the wall so he/she won't have to deal with the sense of compression from the wall and thus to enjoy a more pleasant shower.
- To achieve the purpose, the present invention is comprised of an upright pipe inserted with a retainer that slides up and down and supports the hand held showerhead; both ends of the upright pipe are each connected to a retractable device; the retractable device includes a hollow outer sleeve and an inner sleeve pivoted in the outer sleeve; the outer sleeve is directly or indirectly fixed to the wall; the upright pipe is connected at where between two inner sleeves; one end of the inner sleeve is inverted with a retainer ring to maintain constant contact with the inner wall of the outer sleeve; and each outer sleeve is fastened to a corresponding locking member disposed beforehand on the wall.
-
- Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a stationary wall-mounted showerhead of the prior art.
- Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a hand held showerhead of the prior art.
- Fig. 3 is an exploded view of the present invention.
- Fig. 4 is a perspective view of an assembly of the present invention.
- Figs. 5A and 5B are schematic views showing the operation of the present invention.
- Referring to Figs. 3 and 4, the present invention is essentially related to an
extension unit 20 comprised of anupright pipe 25 inserted with aretainer 26 that is secured to and slides along theupright pipe 25 by means of a clamping structure built in the retainer 26 (the clamping structure is known to anyone who is familiar in this field and is irrelevant to the application thus will not be elaborated herein). Agap 261 is provided to theretainer 26 to support the showerhead. Both ends of theupright pipe 25 are each inserted into a throughhole inner sleeve inner sleeve circular ribs 231, 232 (331, 332) are disposed on the outer circumference of the open end, and a retaining ring 32 (33) is each sandwiched by those twocircular ribs 231, 232 (331, 332). Each inner sleeve 23 (33) is pivoted to an outer sleeve 24 (34). Each outer sleeve 24 (34) is hollowed to form atunnel nails nail plugs 213. The outer circumference of the locking member 21 (31) is disposed with an outer thread 211 (311) to be coupled by the outer sleeve 24 (34), thus both lockingmember upright pipe 25. - Now referring to Figs. 5A and 5B, the user hold and apply force to the
upright pipe 25 to pull or push bothinner sleeves inner sleeves outer sleeves rings outer sleeves - The prevent invention provides an improved structure of a hand-held showerhead sliding bar set extension, and the application for a invention patent is duly filed accordingly. However, it is to be noted that the preferred embodiments disclosed in the specification and the accompanying drawings are not limiting the present invention; and that any construction, installation, or characteristics that is same or similar to that of the present invention should fall within the scope of the purposes and claims of the present invention.
