Abstract
Description
- The invention relates to a razor blade for line-shaped shaving of zones of human hair with a cutting edge on a longitudinal side of the razor blade and the use thereof.
- This type of razor blade for a handheld razor is known, for example from
DE1553829A (Figs. 8 and 9 ),DE1553830A orGB 456,568 - From
US 3,897,629 a blade for a hair-cutting device is known. The blade having at least one longitudinal edge which comprises cutting portions and noncutting portions alternately spaced along the length of the said longitudinal edge, the blade having apertures therein to enable it to be adjustably secured to a hair-cutting device. The Hair-cutting device has a row of parallel teeth 24 which can be displaced with respect to the cutting edge of the blade. The cutting portions and noncutting portions lie alternately between adjacent teeth 24 of the row of teeth. When cutting device is passed through the hair of a user with a motion similar to a combing motion, the hair passing between two teeth associated with a cutting portion is shortened while the hair passing between two teeth associated with noncutting portion remains unshortened. Thus, every time the cutting device is passed through the scalp of a user, only a certain portion of the hair comes in contact with a cutting portion of the blade and thus only this portion of the hair is cut In the embodiment illustrated, only about one-half of the hair comes in contact with a cutting portion of the blade so that the effect of the device is a thinning out of the hair of the user. Because of the alternate cutting and noncutting portions, this blade is not suitable as a razor blade and cannot be used to target narrow shaving areas or shaving lines (for tattoos and the like) of human hair with a strong shaving area contour. -
GB 2391190 A - Thus, the object of the invention is to obtain a generically equivalent razor blade, which does not have the aforementioned disadvantage, enables simple handling, and can be produced economically. In addition, it should be possible to use the razor blade with a commercially available handheld razor.
- This object is achieved in accordance with the characterizing features of
Claim 1 or 12. Additional progressions of the invention as recited in Claim 1 result from Sub-claims 2 through 11. - The invention is explained in more detail by means of embodiment examples. The following is shown:
- Fig. 1:
- shows an enlarged top view of a first razor blade;
- Fig. 2:
- shows a top view of a handheld razor with the razor blade inserted into a receiver as per
Fig, 1 ; - Fig 3:

Fig. 2 , but with the razor blade fixed into position; - Figs. 4-6:
- show a top view of a set of various razor blades with a first, second, and third cutting edge length;
- Fig. 7
- shows a top view of a first, undivided standard blade;
- Fig. 8
- shows a top view of a second, undivided standard blade;
- Fig. 9
- shows the top view of the razor blade as per
Fig. 8 , but with a shortened cutting edge length; and - Fig. 10
- shows a side view of a person with an example of a shaving pattern for scalp hair.
-
Fig. 1 shows a first razor blade 1.1 with a cutting edge 2.1 on alongitudinal side 3 of the razor blade 1.1. The cutting edge 2.1 has a cutting length L1 that is less than one half the length L of thelongitudinal side 3. The cutting edge 2.1 is located on one side of thelongitudinal side 3, wherein an area 5.1 of the cutting edge 2.1, which is cut out from thelongitudinal side 3, is designed to be recessed relative and parallel to the cutting edge 2.1. - The cut-out area 5.1 (5.2, 5.3/
Fig. 5/6 ) is formed by punch-out, grind-out, or erosion (for example before or after production or sharpening of the cutting edge 2.1). - The razor blade 1.1 shown in
Fig. 1 is formed from a standard blade 7 divided up along the length, which is shown as an undivided standard blade 7 inFig. 7 and is supplied as such. This standard blade 7 for ahandheld razor 6 is known, for example, fromDE1553829A (Figs. 8 and 9 ). The undivided razor blade 1.1 as perFig. 4 has two opposing cutting edges 2.1, a center longitudinal cut-out 8, andfixation openings 9, resulting in the razor blade 1.1 as perFig. 1 , formed by a center break 10 (designed break line 10.1) along the longitudinal cut-out 8, which is particularly economical in production. - To provide information regarding the shaving width (
shaving line 17/Fig. 10 ) of the respective razor blade 1.1 (1.2, 1.3 inFig. 5 and/or 6), it has astamp 15 above the corresponding cutting edge length L1, L2, L3, for example showing "3 mm," "6 mm," or "10 mm" (Figs. 4 to 6 ). - A
beginning 11 and anend 12 of the cutting edge length L1, L2, L3 are rounded off slightly thus reducing the risk of injury to the skin. -
Fig. 2 shows ahandheld razor 6 with a razor blade 1.1 inserted into a receiver 4 as perFig. 1 . The replaceable razor blade 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 can be received by a, preferably commercially available,handheld razor 6. -
Fig. 3 shows thehandheld razor 6 as perFig. 2 , but with the razor blade 1.1 fixed into position by alocking slider 18, and it is thus ready for use. - Because a first cutting edge 2,1 has a first cutting edge length L1, a precise shaving width can be targeted, which corresponds to the first cutting edge length L1 (
Fig. 4 ). - Because a second cutting edge 2.2 has a second cutting edge length L2, a precise shaving width can be targeted, which corresponds to the second cutting edge length L2 (
Fig. 5 ). - Because a third cutting edge 2.3 has a third cutting edge length L3, a precise shaving width can be targeted, which corresponds to the third cutting edge length L3 (
Fig. 6 ). - The razor blade 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 consists of a set S (
Figs. 4 to 6 ) of different razor blades 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, each having a first and a second and optionally at least a third cutting edge length L1, L2, L3. The first cutting edge length L1 (Fig. 4 ) is approximately 3 mm, the second cutting edge length L2 (Fig. 5 ) is approximately 6 mm, and the third cutting edge length L3 (Fig. 6 ) is approximately 10 mm. By replacing the selected razor blade 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, the user can easily and comfortably achieve different shaving widths or shaving lines 17 (for tattoos 13/Fig. 10 and the like) ofhuman hair 14 with a strong shaving area contour. -
-
Fig. 8 shows a second, undivided standard blade 7.1 corresponding toDE1553830A , wherein the razor blade 1.2.1 with a second cutting edge length L2 (for example 6 mm) manufactured from this standard blade 7.1 is shown inFig. 9 . - The razor blade 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 according to the invention is particularly suited for use with a commercially available handheld razor 5 for line-shaped shaving (shaving line 17) of zones of human hair (scalp hair) Z. In addition, the insertion/removal of the razor blade 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 is just as easy with the handheld razor 5 as it is with a commercially available standard blade. The fixed receiver 4 of the razor blade 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 in the handheld razor 5 has a stabilizing effect on the cutting edge 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 while shaving.
