Definitions
- the invention relates to a silencer, in particular for exhaust systems from Motor vehicles.
- a sound field impedance that deviates greatly from the wave resistance of the interference sound channel results, for example, at an open output of a hollow body when the latter is excited with its resonance frequency. In this case, the sound field impedance at the exit of the hollow body goes to zero.
- a particularly simple design of this hollow body is a so-called ⁇ / 4 resonator.
- Such resonators are made of, for example Exhaust silencer for motor vehicles ", the library of technology vol. 83, p. 21, Fig. 13, published modern industrie AG, 1993, ISBN 3-478-93076-6 . It is known here that from a channel leading the noise The branch point forms an acoustic coupling point of the resonator.
- WO-A-93 05282 disclose active arrangements Sound attenuation is known in which a chamber containing a loudspeaker is branched from a noise channel. The loudspeaker is said to be such compensation noise radiate that the two sound fields from Störschall and If possible, cancel out the compensation sound by superimposing one another or weaken.
- a control microphone is not closer to one fixed location. This control microphone should be used in conjunction with a Control unit regulate the compensation sound of the loudspeaker so that sets the attenuation or cancellation at the location of the control microphone.
- the known active systems have in common that they are as extensive as possible Attenuation of a noise is designed. Such an extensive one However, noise reduction is not always desirable.
- a motor vehicle for example, for safety reasons by other road users develop audible noise. It may also require certain dampen interfering frequencies as well as possible, but others in an adjustable range Allow dimensions to pass, e.g. to produce a certain sound.
- the invention has for its object to provide a silencer that both damping and targeted change with simple means the sound image of a noise is allowed.
- the active silencer contains at least one Speaker or a speaker membrane having a hollow body, the acoustically via a hollow body opening with a channel carrying a noise is coupled. If one speaks here of loudspeaker diaphragm, so include other bodies or fabrics that can be excited to vibrate, for example to understand piezo elements. There is also a facility provided, which has an adjustable setpoint with an acoustic Coupling point compares the actual value of a sound field impedance and to regulate the actual value to the setpoint, the movement of the loudspeaker diaphragm certainly. The setpoint is within a range of values freely adjustable, which causes a maximum attenuation of the noise Values extends to minimum damping values.
- the noise can not only in terms of its sound amplitude but also in terms of a sound design change qualitatively.
- the proposed silencer in contrast to the known active systems not only the sound pressure, but also the Rapid sound is measured, reducing the sound field impedance between very small and very large words, in extreme cases between zero and infinity is adjustable.
- the proposed silencer generally works according to the Principle of adaptation, i.e. in the area of the acoustic coupling point becomes artificial generates a sound field impedance that can be changed during operation, that of the respective Task, sound attenuation and / or sound design, is adjusted. At the influencing thus achieved is e.g.
- a Setpoint value of the sound field impedance is set such that the noise is the point of adaptation happened completely undamped. If necessary, the setpoint the sound field impedance is set such that the noise at the point of adaptation is partially reflected and partially let through, so that the noise behind the adaptation point with a smaller sound amplitude.
- the setting of the setpoint can depend on certain frequencies of the Be noise.
- the muffler thus enables with the help of the speaker membrane Variety of frequencies an adjustable reflectance of the noise waves in the area of the acoustic coupling point.
- the temporal movement function of the The loudspeaker diaphragm is determined according to the amount and phase or regulated that for a frequency or a variety of frequencies of noise the sound field impedance in the area of the acoustic coupling point if necessary more or less strongly to the wave resistance of the noise channel is adjusted.
- the actual value of the sound field impedance is preferably determined by Measurement of both parameters determining the sound field impedance, namely Sound pressure and sound speed. This can be done using a sound pressure transducer and a sound transducer. The parameters mentioned can but also alone with a sound pressure transducer or a sound transducer be measured. The speed of sound is, for example, with a Pressure gradient microphone can be determined.
- the sound pressure transducer is advantageous by a commercially available component, e.g. through an electromechanical transducer, in particular realized by a microphone, inexpensively. The sound transducer can also be achieved by two spaced-apart sound pressure transducers will be realized.
- the measuring device or the transducers used must not necessarily be positioned in the measuring point itself. Rather, it is conceivable to position the transducer from the measuring point and by a Probe, e.g. a pipe probe to connect to the respective measuring point. By the positioning distant from the measuring point is the measuring device against hot exhaust gases or other harmful influences.
- the silencer contains two hollow bodies a common area of an acoustic coupling point, the speaker diaphragms the two hollow bodies are arranged opposite one another are.
- the required displacement path of a single one Divide the membrane into two membranes and reduce the mechanical and / or electrical power to control the individual speaker membranes to reach.
- the two loudspeaker membranes preferably oscillate the hollow body in phase opposition to each other.
- the silencer comprises at least one Hollow body 1, which has an acoustic coupling point 2 in the manner of a stub line is connected to a noise channel 3, which is approximately from the exhaust pipe 4th a motor vehicle is formed.
- the hollow body 1 is, for example, in cross section cylindrical and extends with its central longitudinal axis 5 substantially transversely to the noise channel 3.
- the coupling point 2 is in the simplest case an opening is formed in the exhaust pipe. To prevent exhaust gas from entering the hollow body to prevent or at least reduce, instead of an opening a perforated pipe section or a pipe section made of a sound-permeable material to be available.
- a speaker 6 with a speaker membrane 7 is used in the face facing away from the coupling point 2 Hollow body 1.
- a measuring device inside the hollow body 8 for determining the actual value of the sound field impedance present in this area arranged.
- the measuring device is designed so that with it both the sound pressure and the sound velocity can be determined.
- it contains a sound pressure transducer and a sound transducer and is about a signal line 9 is connected on the input side to a control unit 10.
- the control unit 10 is in turn connected to the loudspeaker on the output side via a signal line 11 6 connected. Via a selection unit 12, the one desired at the coupling point 2 Setpoint of sound field impedance adjustable.
- the goal of conventional active silencers is to achieve the highest possible level of sound absorption in the noise channel and accordingly an adjustment of the Sound pressure and thus the sound field impedance to a minimum.
- inventive Silencers are capable of practically any impedance values set at the acoustic coupling point 2 and thereby in Interference sound channel 3 at an adaptation point 3a adjacent to the coupling point selectively the extent of sound attenuation (total reflection, partial or maximum Damping the noise amplitude).
- the desired sound field impedance is generated in that the forwarded to the control unit 10 via the signal line 9
- Signals from the measuring device 8 by means of an algorithm, e.g. of an LMS algorithm processes and signals via the signal line 11 to the loudspeaker are supplied, the sound field of the hollow body 1 in the direction of the desired Change setpoint.
- the central longitudinal axis 5 of the Hollow body 1 transverse to the longitudinal extent of the noise channel 3.
- the hollow body 1a, 1b in space-saving way in the direction of the noise channel 3.
- the approximately barrel-shaped Hollow bodies 1a, 1b are eccentrically penetrated by the exhaust pipe 4, whereby this on one hollow body end face 13, 13 a and on the other end face 14, 14a emerges again and its central longitudinal axis 16 parallel to the longitudinal extent of the hollow body 1a, 1b or to their central longitudinal axis 17.
- the Embodiments of FIGS. 2 and 3 differ in number the loudspeaker and with regard to the arrangement of the acoustic coupling point.
- the hollow body of the arrangement according to FIG. 2 has only one loudspeaker 6a, arranged on the front face 13, as seen in the direction of flow 15 with its loudspeaker diaphragm 7 essentially upstream of the from the end face 13 spanned plane level.
- the one on an engine (Not shown) connected section 4a of the exhaust pipe 4 extends in the direction of flow 15 into the hollow body and ends with an axial spacing the end face 14 of the hollow body 1a.
- the area between the downstream located end of section 4a and end face 14 forms the acoustic Coupling point 2a.
- the exhaust gas extends from the end face 14 into the atmosphere conductive section 4b of the exhaust pipe 4 away.
- the two pipe sections 4a, 4b have the same central longitudinal axis 16.
- the measuring device 8 is like in the embodiment described above also close to the acoustic Coupling point 2 arranged.
- the measuring device 8 can therefore cross to Flow direction 7 can be positioned away from the hot exhaust gas without here the sound field impedance control at the coupling point 2 or the interference noise influence is affected at the adaptation point 3a.
- the sound pressure and or rapid sound measurement at the coupling point 2 such that the Measuring point is still positioned in the area of coupling point 2, the corresponding Transducers or sensors themselves positioned at a distance from the measuring point and connected to it by a probe.
- a sound pressure converter is included e.g. designed as a probe microphone.
- the active silencer according to FIG. 3 also essentially contains one barrel-shaped hollow body 1b, in each of the two end faces 13a, 14a Speaker 6a, 6b is arranged and - as described above - by one Disturbance sound channel 3 or an exhaust pipe 4 is eccentrically penetrated.
- the hollow body 1b can also be placed as two with their open end faces butt to butt Hollow bodies 1c, 1d are considered.
- the acoustic coupling point 2 is thereby formed that two on both sides protrude approximately equally far into the hollow body 1b Pipe sections 4c, 4d with the same central longitudinal axis 16 to form the acoustic coupling point 2a with axial distance from each other.
- the coupling point but can also by perforation or the like. be educated.
- the two Speakers 6a, 6b are on the output side with two signal lines 11a, 11b the control unit 10 connected to a selection unit 12 is connected.
- the control unit 10 connected to a selection unit 12 is connected.
- Occurrence in the hollow body 1,1a, 1b frequencies above the range of plane sound waves on, so arise in the sound field of the hollow body - depending on its Cross-sectional shape - pressure node lines of higher modes than the basic mode. On In these pressure node lines, the sound pressure of the higher modes is always zero.
- the active silencer is therefore at least the measuring point corresponding to the position of the measuring device 8 a higher fashion push knot line.
- the cross - sectional center of the Noise channel 3 or its central longitudinal axis 16 can be on a pressure node line a higher fashion.
- the radial center or the central longitudinal axis of the noise channel 3 lies approximately at the intersection of Pressure node line 18 and first pressure node line 19 of the second circumferential mode.
- a second pressure node line 20 of the second circumferential mode is also in FIG. 3 shown.
- the noise channel on different pressure node lines of a higher fashion lie.
- the direction of movement runs the speaker diaphragm 7a, 7b, 7c parallel to the direction of propagation 15 of the Noise, which creates the speaker membrane inside the muffler can be arranged in a space-saving manner and none across the direction of propagation additional space must be taken into account.
- a measuring point for measuring an acoustic Coupling point pending actual value of the sound field impedance in the plane to position the hollow body sound field as desired without measuring the Falsify sound pressure.
- This is at least at low frequencies, i.e. at flat sound waves of the hollow body sound field possible.
- a measuring device arranged in the measuring point 8 (e.g. pressure transducer; microphone) for recording the sound pressure before hot Exhaust gases in the noise channel are better protected.
- Loudspeaker diaphragm 7 is arranged concentrically with noise channel 3, i.e. when this or the exhaust pipe 4 forming it concentrically the speaker or speakers enforced.
