Description
BESCHREIBUNG
Fig. 1 zeigt die erfindungsgemässe Zahnbürste von oben,
DESCRIPTION
A very large variety of toothbrushes of various shapes are currently available on the market, but are aimed at brushing the teeth in a conventional manner, in particular the outer surfaces and the occlusal surfaces of the teeth. However, as is known, it is difficult to brush the inner surfaces of the front teeth in such a way that the tartar cannot adhere to them. Electric toothbrushes are usually shorter than hand-operated and can therefore approach the inner surfaces of the teeth, but it is not possible to work on the inner surfaces of the front teeth in such a way that the tartar cannot get stuck.
In contrast, it is an object of the present invention to provide a toothbrush which does not have the above disadvantages and is suitable for preventing the build-up of tartar on the inner surfaces of the front teeth. A toothbrush that solves this problem is described in claim 1.
The invention is explained below with reference to a drawing of an embodiment.
1 shows the toothbrush according to the invention from above,
Fig. 2 shows the toothbrush according to FIG. 1 partially cut longitudinally, and
FIG. 3 shows a section of the toothbrush according to FIG. 1.
In Fig. 1 you can see the toothbrush with the handle part 1 and the front, with bristles 3 front part 2, which is seen semicircularly curved in the longitudinal direction.
The curvature is roughly adapted to the curvature of the front teeth, a lower jaw 4 being indicated schematically in FIG. 1. 3 that the front part of the toothbrush is also semicircular when viewed in the transverse direction thereof. In one embodiment, the radius of curvature in the longitudinal direction is 25 mm and the radius of curvature in the transverse direction is 5 mm, while the total length of this embodiment is approximately 200 mm.
This toothbrush, which is intended to complement a conventional toothbrush or an electric toothbrush, is used in an upward movement with respect to the front teeth, i.e. in a likewise approximately semicircular movement with respect to the longitudinal axis of the brush.
When using the toothbrush, it should be noted that the semicircular movement with respect to the longitudinal axis of the brush only occurs from the tooth neck against the chewing surface of the teeth. For this purpose, it is expedient that the handle is not equipped exactly as in most conventional toothbrushes, but rather has depressions 5, 6 and 7, in particular to support the thumb and fingers, as a result of which a stronger grip and thus a strong brushing of the inner surfaces of the front teeth is made possible. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the handle 2 is cranked with respect to the center of curvature and also with respect to the connecting piece 8 between the front part and the handle, in order to enable the toothbrushes to better nestle against the tooth front surfaces.
If this toothbrush is used as frequently as the other conventional toothbrush, it can prevent tartar from adhering to the inner surfaces of the front teeth.
It is possible within the scope of this invention to provide the front part of the toothbrush acceptably and to replace the front part for tartar prophylaxis with a front part of a conventional toothbrush. Furthermore, dentifrices can be integrated in the handle of the toothbrush, these agents can be in the form of gel, paste, liquid or powder, with access to the front part of the toothbrush. Of course, different degrees of hardness of the bristles can be provided, and the toothbrush can also be designed as a pocket or travel toothbrush.
