Jeff Skinner has played for many teams since beginning his career with the Carolina Hurricanes 12-odd years ago. His last tenure before signing with the Oilers this year was with the Buffalo Sabres, where he put up pretty good numbers, recording 46 points in 74 games.

This year, the Oilers lost quite a few players during free agency, traded away certain players, and signed significant types of players to the roster. There was a massive expectation for this particular roster to take the team's place concerning its standing in the league.

This is where Skinner came into play, signing a one-year deal worth $3 million. Many believed this show-me deal to be a good one in terms of his ability and scoring arsenal. However, a little over a month into this season's campaign, Skinner has only recorded only six points in 17 games.

Many believe time is running out for the forward with the club and that he should move on. This is where we devised four realistic destinations for the winger/ forward—noting that Evander Kane will be back at some point, healthier than ever and ready to go.

4 teams likely to trade for Jeff Skinner

Anaheim Ducks

In a previous article, we talked about defenseman Brian Dumoulin being an option to improve the defensive aspect of things, I know it is not a top-six forward-ranking; however, this would be something the Edmonton Oilers may pursue for the roster's needs.

New York Islanders

The Islanders currently need depth scoring, and Skinner may be a welcoming addition to the team on a scoring basis if all works out for both clubs, especially Skinner himself. He would fit into that squad of players under head coach Patrick Roy's and Lou Lamorello's styled regime.

St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues did manage to steal two players from the Edmonton Oilers during the off-season, who have now found success with their new clubs. Finding a suitable replacement through a three-way trade where Edmonton comes out scott-free would be the upside.

Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators club has quite a few players on its roster that would complement the Oilers team if acquired by the team. Skinner would help a Senators team due to his experience and knowledge of playing with quality players.

To be fair, there may be other teams that may be interested in Skinner's services. What those teams need to keep in mind is the fact that Skinner has a $3 million price tag. Depending on how Skinner does in the coming weeks has a big impact on his future with the Oilers.
