Usability and Acceptability of a Mobile Comprehensive HIV Prevention App for Men Who Have Sex With Men: A Pilot Study

Advertisements targeted adult male Facebook users residing in Atlanta or Seattle who indicated being a man interested in men. Advertisements on the MSM networking app used geolocation to deliver advertisements to men who opened the app on an Android device while in the Atlanta or Seattle metro area. Interested participants who clicked on an advertisement were taken to a Web-based screening and enrollment survey and presented with a brief description of the study.

It has been reported that over half of the Chinese male population aged 70 years or older are experiencing BPH [3]. The pathogenesis of BPH remains incompletely understood despite its high prevalence, as multiple factors are involved in the process [4]. Except for aging, several studies have attempted to identify other risk factors for BPH, including androgen and estrogen levels, cigarette and alcohol consumption, sexual activity, and socioeconomic factors [5,6].

Our patient was a young male individual who was previously healthy. He presented with a recurrence of an SP for the first time (2 SPs in total). The previous episode was treated conservatively 7 months prior, and his computed tomography scan for this episode showed that he had small apical bullae. The decision was made to list the patient for elective surgical treatment, and after discussion with the patient, he was listed for a pleurectomy and bullectomy.

Importance of Patient History in Artificial Intelligence–Assisted Medical Diagnosis: Comparison Study

Among the 30 cases, 19 patients were male and 11 were female, with ages ranging from 18 months to 65 years. In total, 12 individuals were younger than 20 years. The results are shown in Table 1. Cases 1-15 of the original vignette represent those requiring emergent care, cases 16-30 represent those requiring nonemergent care, and cases 31-45 represent those that are appropriate for self-care.

These agreements are prevalent among 58% to 99% of same-sex male couples [27], with 11% to 64% of these agreements including sex with outside partners [27]. Given that some MSM have agreements regarding outside partners, dating and social networking apps provide a way to reach partnered MSM that may use apps to socialize or find potential sexual partners.

The Characteristics and Quality of Mobile Phone Apps Targeted at Men Who Have Sex With Men in China: A Window of Opportunity for Health Information Dissemination?

Mobile phone apps have become the most common way for gay men to meet male sex partners. In this study, acceptability and popularity of MSM apps were roughly measured by users’ ratings and number of downloads. Usually, apps that are downloaded far more frequently have high user rating. Thus, Blued, Aloha, and Gaypark were found to be downloaded more than 100,000 times from the Android Market, and their rating was over 4 stars.
